I never found time and courage to paint this uncommon machine but with the end of my Epic project, it’s time for me to take my brush and try to color this Oldschool master piece. After many hours of works, I finally got a satisfactory result.
Chaos Dwarfs and Centaur armors are painted in black with white highlights. A final glaze is applied to color armors (Dark Green, Space wolf Grey and Dark flesh). Like my unit of chaos warriors, I unify Chaos Dwarfs (and Juggernaut) with smalls touch of gold on the armors.
The Juggernaut chassis was problematic for me because the centaur is hidden inside the original chariot. I created an opening (Shutter is a green stuff mold of turret platform) to resolve my problem and to add details in this Juggernaut area. Rest of the chariot is a mix of Gold and Blue metal, oxidation in the dark part enriches the NMM effect (Glazes of Bestial Brown, Snakebites Leather, Dark flesh and Scorched Brown).
I under estimated the impact of shields on the global aspect of the war machine. At the beginning, I envisaged to put SH2 shields (Kev Adams O&G) all around the Juggernaut but they would bring too many colors on the miniature. I finally chose a mix between wooden shields (engraved), shields with transfers and Green stuffed shields with a Fraser Gray style. I added gold details on the border of shields to integrate these elements into the whole miniature.
