    Chaos Dwarf Ally Contingent

Hi, I recently repainted some models of my collection to align a Chaos Dwarf army during the Oldhammer day France 2016. Usually, they are accessible only as Chaotic allied but for this time, I transformed this contingent into an army of 2000pts (Battle report here).
During this battle, War machines generated numerous victims in Sea elves rank. Don’t pay attention on the bases of portable machines, it’s just for pics and my display case … Indeed, it’s essential to hide the portable machines in the units of infantry, exactly as an independent character. In this way, they remain protected from the shootings.

I realized some Green Stuff works as the embellishment of the war banners or the Chaos Dwarfs Berserk chained on the ground or the addition of pustules to Ass Cannon. For the latter, I also sculptured two mantlets to accentuate its status of " Siege Cannon".
Finally, I realized a resculpt of a Dwarf from the ViaLudibunda range. Are you feel the Chaos Dwarf Marauder style? This is my new Contingent Leader! Thanks to Bruno to be kind enough to mold and produce this model for our Oldhammer Day France 2016. Awesome job Bruno, thank you!

Tutorial : How make your own banner?

Banners have a strong impact on the gaming table, it's probably the first thing that your opponent see !!
Today, I describe my own technic to make my own banners... No need specific material, just a sheet of paper and hobby Tools.

I choose to draw my banners but I know it's difficult for a lot of gamers to obtain a satifaisant result in this way... To help you,  use  black&white copy banners from WHFB Armies (or other books), sometimes I use them ;)

Materials : Sheet of paper, paper pen, fine black ink pen, old teeth brush, cutter, wire, putty, paints & brush.

1- To have a general idea of shape and proportions, use your model when you draw on your sheet.
2- Draw your banner with paper pen.

3- Paint the bottom of the banner with diluted colors.
4- Wash with different colors. At the edges of the banner use dark wash.

    5- Take your teeth brush.
6- Splash your banner with wash colors (or diluted colors).

7- Color your banner with paints.
8- Use your fine brush to lining, and use ink pen to represent the rot, make lines of points.

    9- Cut the banner.
10- Paint the edges of banner in black.

11- Paint the back to rigidify paper.
12- Shape the pole with wire, than cover with putty.

13- Paint the pole and stick your banner. Add small stuffs to decorate the banner (Shields, trophies, chains, etc).

Now my Chaos Dwarfs are ready for the next battle.
I hope you enjoy this tutorial !!
    Bye Nico.

    Chaos Dwarf Juggernaut

I never found time and courage to paint this uncommon machine but with the end of my Epic project, it’s time for me to take my brush and try to color this Oldschool master piece. After many hours of works, I finally got a satisfactory result.

Chaos Dwarfs and Centaur armors are painted in black with white highlights. A final glaze is applied to color armors (Dark Green, Space wolf Grey and Dark flesh). Like my unit of chaos warriors, I unify Chaos Dwarfs (and Juggernaut) with smalls touch of gold on the armors.

The Juggernaut chassis was problematic for me because the centaur is hidden inside the original chariot. I created an opening (Shutter is a green stuff mold of turret platform) to resolve my problem and to add details in this Juggernaut area. Rest of the chariot is a mix of Gold and Blue metal, oxidation in the dark part enriches the NMM effect (Glazes of Bestial Brown, Snakebites Leather, Dark flesh and Scorched Brown).

I under estimated the impact of shields on the global aspect of the war machine. At the beginning, I envisaged to put SH2 shields (Kev Adams O&G) all around the Juggernaut but they would bring too many colors on the miniature. I finally chose a mix between wooden shields (engraved), shields with transfers and Green stuffed shields with a Fraser Gray style. I added gold details on the border of shields to integrate these elements into the whole miniature.

    Crush, crumble and chop.

Blood for the Blood God, Doom for the Doom One.

Question peinture, j'ai pris mon pied et mon temps.
